JOE M. MACCURDY, JR, MD

practicing radiologist since 1995

A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. MacCurdy attended LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. His internship in internal medicine was with North Carolina Baptist Hospital at Wake Forest’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine, followed by his radiology residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. MacCurdy later completed a fellowship in Angiography and Interventional Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

 

Dr. MacCurdy is board certified by the American Board of Radiology. Prior to attending medical school, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology at Rhodes College. Dr. MacCurdy has served as the Medical Director of Radiology and on the Medical Executive Committees of Summit Medical Center and Horizon Medical Center.

 

Dr. MacCurdy and his wife married while he was in residency in Augusta and have four children, Emma, Maggie, Tess, and Bennett. Dr. MacCurdy’s main hobby these days is enjoying his children’s sporting events and other activities which include cheerleading, mock trial, volleyball, baseball, basketball, and soccer.
